Also...

That same broadcast said that Canadians on average live 2 years longer than people in the US, yet the people in the US pay double the amount annually for health care that the Canadians do. And that the only countries that allow advertising for prescription drugs on television are the US and New Zealand.

Hmmmm.....

'CBS Sunday Morning' did the whole show this morning on health issues. A smacking together of a couple of facts the show brought out seemed interesting to me. Namely, that many of the foods that the show claimed the Japanese people traditionally eat and that contribute to their award-winning longevity (foods like soy, fish, shellfish) are the same foods that American youngsters in maddenly increasing quanities are becoming extremely allergic to. Hmmmm.....
