Sailor Lynx Ending

My slow dial-up connection has been greatly supplimented by the wonderful and free service of the Lynx browser provided by Sailor, a part of Maryland's Public Library Network.

It takes some getting used to, and it's text-based, but the pages fly by when surfing, and pictures and files can still be downloaded if so desired.

Now the service is being discontinued on July 1. I wrote an e-mail asking why, but got no response. There are other implimentations of Lynx out there, but the Sailor Lynx is the most accessable and best set-up one I've seen, so much so that I've sometimes preferred it even when using a broadband connection.

I think it will be a sad occassion when it finally goes off-line, one less choice available to the web-user, especially those suffering with slow service.

Something to Pass the Dulopingness Away...

It's not all the time but only some of it.
